It sounds like an obvious question, and as cofounders we live and breathe the Windfall Battery every day, so the answer seems obvious too.

But as we’re launching pre-orders for the first ever Windfall Batteries, we want to make sure we answer these questions so that you can understand what the battery is and decide if it’s for you.

How does it actually work?

We find that people usually get the Windfall Battery quickly. The core premise is quite simple - it charges itself up with cheap (and clean) off-peak energy and then gives you that energy back during the peak times.

But then some people think for a moment, and ask “yes, but how does it actually work?”

Ultimately, the Windfall Battery is designed to save you money on your bills. Here in the UK, that also means that you’ll reduce your CO₂ emissions because the cheapest energy is the cleanest.
